miniature experiments in scribbler too

One of the fruits of my recent trip to Flashbelt was the discovery of “Scribbler Too” by Mario Klingemann. It’s an update of Ze Frank’s generative illustration program, “Scribbler.” I’ve been looking for a program in which I could quickly build up the kind of textures I’m accustomed to in painting and the interface really works for me. You can set the “fuzziness” of the brush to create a texture like I’ve used on the treeline above. I can honestly say that it’s the first digital illustration interface that is as enjoyable to use as my analog ones; you feel like you’re sculpting metal shavings on a magnet. Very fun.
You can also vary the “curviness” of the brush. I used this to create this mossy sod. I may have to populate it with some ants later. (more…)
